COMPUTING GROUP

This group is for anyone interested in developing their computing skills, including complete beginners to more experienced users.  Surf the net, develop basic computing skills, learn how to type a letter, make posters...whatever interests you.  Support is tailored to your individual needs and interests.  Based at the Fairfield Community Centre.

John Hector Murray comes to the Friday morning Computer Group:

I go to this group on Friday mornings to either write about my charity races or to get a five-day forecast so that I know what the weather might be in the area where my race is, or to get information about hotel or B&B accommodation from the internet.  You can get bus, train, ferry and plane timetables.

We use computers for lots of different things that we might need or want to find out quickly.  I have some information that I have written and it has been put on what we call the web.  Anyone can use a computer either to learn about something, to type a letter or biography, or to send an email letter somewhere (business or friendly).

The group starts at 10am & ends at noon.  You can send, write, learn, and find out things on a computer which would take a long time if done through a shop or secretary. You can even book a holiday or short weekend break .
